After two nights in Hawaii, the Hula Girls arrived refreshed and ready for business. Wednesday night during RWANational sees the biggest literacy signing in the world – hundreds and hundreds of authors signing books for avid readers, the proceeds going to fund literacy projects, a very worth cause! You should see it when they open the doors and the fans make a dash for their favourite authors – it’s like 5am Boxing Day when those department sales doors open. Scary and exciting at the same time. Here’s a pic of me at the signing, thankfully before the craziness set in…

After the signing fellow Presents author, Sandra Marton, hosted her famous pizza party in her suite where we chatted over wine, Tim Tams, Idaho Spuds (thanks to Jennie Lucas!) and pizza. We even managed to hijack the pizza delivery guy – here he is, wondering what he’d struck…
That’s Harlequin Romance author, Barbara Hannay, to his right. Behind we have from right, Presents authors, Carole Mortimer, Jennie Lucas and Sharon Kendrick and another new Harlequin Mills and Boon author whose name escapes me (sorry!). We did have a lot of fun that night:-)) Thank you Sandra!
Thursday saw more fun and games and a fun impromptu shopping trip with both Kate Walker and Sandra Marton and I haven’t had so much fun shopping for I don’t know how long. We had a great time and found some wonderful bargains. And after all that shopping, it was time to have a long cold drink – here we are having iced drinks at an open air cafe in Union Square. It was a fabulous day!

Thanks for sharing the pics, Trish. The other M&B writer is Mod H author Heidi Rice, I believe.
Just last night I finished The Italian Boss’s Mistress of Revenge, loved it. Thanks for another great read.
Chris.
Comment by Anonymous August 12, 2008 @ 1:15 pmSo fun to see your pictures, Trish–especially of the pizza delivery guy at Sandra’s party. I hadn’t seen that pic before!
I think the girl sitting next to Sharon might be Kimberly Kerr, the young mom from Alabama who just sold to Presents. Pretty, glamorous and very nice too.
Comment by Jennie Lucas August 12, 2008 @ 6:01 pmNice pics, Trish! Yes, I believe that is Kimberly Kerr, writing as Kimberly Lang. She’s my neighbor (really, she lives two miles away) and chapter mate! She sold to Modern Heat in May.
I am starting The Italian Boss’s Mistress of Revenge tonight!
Comment by Lynn Raye Harris August 13, 2008 @ 9:12 pmThanks so much, Chris, Jennie and Lynn! I’d been wavering between Heidi and Kimberly and it was all too hard, thanks for clearing that up. It was wonderful to meet a brand new author at the party. Not that we weren’t already in a good mood:-))
And it was great to see you again after three long years, Jennie, and to meet you too, Lynn, at the Harlequin party! I hope you enjoy The Italian Boss’s Mistress of Revenge. Thanks Chris, for your lovely comments!
Comment by Trish Morey August 13, 2008 @ 10:30 pmYep, that’s me hiding–overwhelmed at the awesomeness of writers around me!
And Jennie–thanks for saying I’m young! ~big smooch~
Comment by Kimberly Lang August 14, 2008 @ 1:39 pmI just re-read and saw, “Pretty, glamorous and very nice too”–Jennie, you’re now my favorite person!
Comment by Kimberly Lang August 14, 2008 @ 1:40 pmLOL, Kimberly, thanks for dropping by. That Jennie Lucas sure has a way with words, doesn’t she?
If you come by again, be sure to tell us more about your debut novel! Look forward to reading it.
