A few pics from Knossos

One of the  best things about visiting Crete for me was the opportunity to revisit Knossos, the palace of Minos, and as legend goes, the home of the Minatour, half man and half beast, and finally slain by Theseus with the help of Ariadne, daughter of Minos.

It’s a wonderful legend, all artfully woven centuries later around the by then legendary complexity of design of the famous palace (containing 1300-1500 rooms) in a society that held the bull sacred.

And while we’re now back in the UK, I thought I’d share a few of our photos from the palace, none of them very startling in themselves (you’ll find much better pics on the net) , but just to share a taste of our adventures and a history that fascinates me… enjoy!

Oops, one of those looked like it wasn’t working so I reuploaded and now I can’t delete. But they are pretty:-))

Hertfordshire is lovely and sunny and 18C today! Off to Doha tomorrow and it’s going to be so sad to leave.

So hard to believe you’ll be on the homeward leg soon, Trish. But man, you guys have seen and done so much in a very short time. This will be an experience the girls will remember forever, the lucky things!

Have to admit, I’m looking forward to having you back but it has been wonderful sharing your thoughts and pics through your blog while you’ve been away. Great way to stay in touch!

Very nice photos, I loved Greece. I believe Sandra Marton is getting ready to travel there! Research for your next alpha?

Definitely on that homeward leg, Yvonne. A little over 24 hours from now, we’ll be heading to the airport and home, although with a 10 hour layover in Singapore, it’s still going to be a long 24 hours till we get there. Going to be amazing to be home!

Marilyn, I didn’t realise Sandra Marton was heading off too! But oh yes, it’s all research. Right here in Doha, I feel the makings of a sheikh book coming on:-))

Hi Carol, and yes you can request whatever you like!:-)) Shall see what I can do about the London photos asap.

Trish, still plagued with these revisions. Whatever happened to my focus??
